With great regret we say goodbye to Professor Zygmunt Bauman - philosopher, whose was most celebrated the world and the Other. Thank you for your words of friendship and presence.

The Council and the Foundation Team Malta

Born in Poznan in 1925, Zygmunt Bauman, one of the most respected in the world of sociologists and philosophers in our minds and hearts enrolled as the creator of the concept of post-modernity, a careful observer of social reality. His reflections on liquid modernity are taught at universities around the world and are an important contribution to the development of the concept of postmodernism. Considerations about the culture, the Holocaust, and ethics are a constant point of reference for contemporary humanities.

Zygmunt Bauman was a friend and mentor of Malta. In 2013, a professor in lecture opening FORUM Malta Festival Poznań entitled "Man. Borders ", encouraged viewers to reflect on the direction of changes taking place in the modern world, related to the issues addressed within the idiom of the festival - the man-machine.
