Orchidee is a performance and a confession, a record of a journey, or a diary. It focuses on the disorientation of modern people and their loss of faith, both political and spiritual. Personal images from the director’s travels and of his mother’s death are mixed with public images, e.g. of the fall of Berlusconi. The performance features actors well known to Malta audiences from previous shows by Pippo Delbono, who since 1997 has been working with professionals, performers and amateurs with varying degrees of intellectual disability.
